About the class:
For 2 weeks you will get weekly tutorials followed by a design assignment all about designing for christmas. For us pattern and print designers christmas is a big theme and to design a christmas collection is always a good idea. All producers are in need of christmas prints!
This course is for you that knows how to design repeated patterns, if you want to learn I suggest you take my print and pattern course
In the class you will work from two different design briefs. The course is based on drawing by hand hand to work with the repeats. To create a repeat is easy but to draw a pattern that has a function is harder.
Once a week Cecilia will send live on Substack and share her own process with you, talking about her own collections on the theme, about how to build a collection and how her designs are done. You will also have time to talk about the assignment and other things related to print and pattern.
You will get access to a Substack group where you can post your weekly assignment and meet the rest of the class. In the group you can talk about the course and give each other feedback. The “network” in a class is as important as the class itself and to learn from each other is great.
